Three permanent exhibitions at the Ningaloo Centre take visitors on a journey through the region’s social history, ‘reef to range’ ecological diversity and ancient landscapes.
FRD were engaged by the Shire of Exmouth for content creation, documentation, graphic design, and delivery and installation for this suite of exhibitions. Showcases and built elements are complemented by immersive graphic installations, dynamic large object displays and interactive experiences. All components are integrated according to a defined thematic structure of related content. This generates an experience which is educational and playful, catering to a wide range of audiences. Personal stories of bravery and hardship throughout the history of Exmouth are evoked via interpretive installations and historical imagery. Marine artefacts, interactive video installations and multi-touch tables explore the complex yet fragile marine ecology of the region. By moving through simulated environmental experiences with graphic and soundscape components, visitors are introduced to the ancient landscape and the elemental forces which shape it.
