The Willandra Lakes region represents one of the world’s most significant archaeological, cultural and natural landscapes.
This strategy was commissioned to review existing interpretation of the site and develop a site-wide strategy to guide future interpretation of this globally significant area, while realising a range of broader aspirations and objectives of the National Park and World Heritage organisations.
The process involved extensive consultation with key stakeholders, in particular with Elders of the three traditional tribal groups, National Parks and World Heritage staff, members of the scientific and research communities, and World Heritage landholders.
