New Zealand Army Museum

Waiouru, New Zealand

The New Zealand Army Museum was formed in Waiouru in 1964 from a series of collections that had previously been spread throughout New Zealand. The museum’s collections and buildings have continued to grow haphazardly until 2007, when Freeman Ryan Design was commissioned to produce a masterplan to create an overarching strategy for the site. The plan defines a coherent and functional approach to visitor circulation through the disparate elements of the site as well as a program for future developments.
