Macquarie the Governor,
1810 to 1821

Banking Chamber, No. 1 Martin Place, Sydney

Macquarie the Governor: 1810 to 1821 brought together objects and stories from the early years of NSW. A collaboration between the State Library of NSW and Macquarie Group Services, the exhibition was housed in the heritage listed GPO building in Martin Place, Sydney and was a celebration of life in the colony under the governorship of one of its visionary forefathers, Lachlan Macquarie.

A key element of the exhibition’s success was due to the relationships FRD has built with contractors over the years in design development. A high quality finish was pulled together alongside creative uses of technology, overcoming heritage site constrains where changes to the building fabric were limited.
