Freeman Ryan Design created a new gallery space within State Library of New South Wales, including planning, interior finishes, and lighting, climate control and showcase systems. This was followed by the design of the exhibition, AMAZE, where visitors to the new gallery can experience little-seen items from the Library's collections and explore the hidden stories and personal histories behind them.
Removable components were designed to allow both frequent exhibit changes within the space and alternative design expressions. The new lighting design, using LED fixtures, allows for both flexibility and highlights within the exhibitions. The exhibitions change regularly to reflect the constant movement and shifting focus in our everyday lives.
